Trend of keeping exotic birds is increasing massively in Pakistan. There are thousands of people now associated with this hobby. Some of them keep them for earning money to spend their life and some are just keeping them because they love to keep a pet. In this article I will share with you that how this trend is prevailing in Pakistan and in our next topics I will try to share with you best knowledge on how to keep them and what are the things that you need to learn to increase breeding.


Since Karachi is the business hub of Pakistan and it has very diverse population. People from all around Pakistan come here to start business. Exotic bird business is now become one of the biggest business of this growing economy. I have been working throughout Pakistan to see the trends and now I can say that pet keeping has increased dramatically in last few years. There was a time when people used to keep them as single pet and there was very few people who used to actually keep them for business purpose. Similarly, there were less people who knew that how to breed exotic birds in unnatural environment. Now things have changed over the years people got experience and they are now able to breed them in home environment. Still there are many issues, as people who have gained experience without technical knowledge they do experiments on the birds in the result many times they lose their very expensive birds.


 Now in big markets like sadder, empress market, lalukhait Sunday bazaar and many other places you will find variety of exotic birds. From small parakeet to macaw all these exotic birds are available. They are imported from abroad or locally bred in Karachi.

They all are sold from Rs:500 to Rs.300000 depends on the breed. Their chicks are also available in the market that people buy and nurture by hand feeding.

Besides all there is a dark part of this market. People keep them without having complete knowledge of accommodation, feeding, medications, environment etc. All they do is that they see someone and adopt the same structure without knowing pros and cons.
