Pakistani High flyer Pigeon’s wing structures and it’s attributes Part-2

It took little time to come up with some good pictures for better understanding of ideal Pakistani high flyer pigeon's wing structure.

As I already discussed in my last article that due to the extensive cross breeding. We come across with many varieties of Pakistani high flyer pigeons. There is not a particular shape of wing that can be categorized as best among all. You must know few basic things to pick best Pakistani high flyer pigeon.

For giving you some good idea, I have prepared two samples for you guys to understand high flyer body silhouette in comparison to low flyers.

If you see silhouette of low flyer pigeon you can easily compare this with falcon. As they are compact and has proportionally long wing. Body structure slim as compare to high flyer pigeons of Pakistan.

Whereas if you see body silhouette of Pakistani high flyer. You can easily see that their wing and body structure are proportionally bigger and broader. Therefore, their tendency of flying at lower altitude is less then low flyers. Their body takes more lift due to broader structure.

Low flyer with thinner structure get less lift but gives it tendency to fight against heavy wind, therefore they can fly low altitude.

So it was all about structure and its impact on the flying style of Pakistani high flying pigeon. Now what are the indicators of good flyer. Let us understand it like this, if an airplane has holes in its wing. Do you think that airplane can fly in this condition? Similarly, if a wing of flying pigeon has gaps in its flying feathers. It creates air pockets between the gapes. It gives extra burden on the wing and in the result less flying time with high energy wastage.

So the wing of high flyer pigeon should be compact, feathers arrangement should be without any gap.

Second most important thing is the curve at the wing joint or under arm. If you open pigeon's wing and see it from front you will see a deep curve between under arm and starting area of primaries. This curve should be deep to get maximum lift.

Bigger primaries mean, (8,9 & 10) should be curved inside. It gives maximum help to pass air flow with less friction. If outer primaries go outside the wing, It gives more area to bounce with coming high pressure of air and in the result it creates more friction. That increase energy consumption and in result pigeon get tired earlier.
